Организов. подача и распред. газ. топлива (природные горючие газы; газы, получаемые газификацией топлив; сжиженные газы, получаемые при переработке нефти и попутных газов и др.) для нужд народного хоз-ва. Г. городов и промышл. предприятий природными и искусств, газами осуществляется по магистральным газопроводам. Прием газа потребителем производится на контр.-распределит. пункте, где газ редуцируется до допуск. нормами давления и поступает в гор. газ. сеть или на промышл. предприятия. Различают системы г. централизованные, в к-рых распределение газа потребителям проводится по гор. газовой сети, и децентрализ. (местные) - от местных газо-генерир. установок или с использов. емкостей (цистерн, баллонов), заполненных сжижен. газами. Г. металлургич. предприятий осуществляется, как правило, централизованно.
